Saving and migration
Atlas saves projects beneath ServerStorage.AtlasStudioProjects. Each project folder contains JSON graph/settings data and separately encoded paint masks. The Index value remembers the active project. Saving or publishing the place carries this data with it.
Graph commands and paint operations save before they enter Studio's history, allowing Studio Undo/Redo to restore the corresponding stored project state. Closing the plugin also captures the active graph.
On load, Atlas upgrades older project schemas. Current migration removes retired placement and graph-color nodes, removes obsolete connections, supplies new defaults, and ensures a Build Map node exists. Terrain materials are now the only surface representation.
Back up important places before opening them with a new Atlas release. A newer graph may contain node types an older plugin does not recognize; those nodes are skipped rather than restored.
See Transfer maps for moving this storage between places.
