Prepare a final build

Before increasing the map to its final bounds:

  1. Duplicate the Atlas project as a checkpoint.
  2. Save or publish a backup of the place.
  3. Confirm Build Map has valid Height and Material inputs.
  4. Inspect Height, Material, and Slope at 512 or 1024 preview resolution.
  5. Orbit the 3D mesh and verify Width, Depth, Maximum height, Base Y, and Sea level proportions.
  6. Check material bands at coastlines, cliffs, peaks, and flat ground.
  7. Verify every Paint Mask at the final preview resolution.
  8. Build a reduced-size test if the final graph contains expensive simulations.
  9. Apply optional Environment settings separately.
  10. Select Build Terrain and allow the operation to finish before editing Terrain manually.

After the final build, use Studio for roads, models, foliage, landmarks, and hand detailing. A later Atlas build will replace Terrain edits, so retain the Atlas project and a pre-detail backup if iteration may continue.
